Investment Committee

Our Investment Committee will review and approve all of Grow Michigan’s applications for investments.  It is composed of independent, experienced investment and credit professionals.

    Daniel Terpsma


    Daniel W. Terpsma, age 63, is the Executive Vice President, Director of Commercial and Regional Banking at Chemical Bank, a position he has held since September 14, 2015. Mr. Terpsma previously served Chemical Bank as Managing Director-Strategic Growth commencing 11/1/2014. Mr. Terpsma served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Northwestern Bank from 2013 to October 31, 2014, when it was acquired by Chemical Financial. Mr. Terpsma held senior management positions from 1983-2012 with Old Kent Financial Corporation, LaSalle Bank/ABN Amro Corporation, Bank of America Corporation and Westwater Group. Mr. Terpsma is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and the Senior Leadership Team of Chemical Bank.

  • Joseph Redoutey

    Joseph Redoutey


    Joe Redoutey has been the Chief Credit Officer at Flagstar Bank since January, 2013 after joining Flagstar in June, 2011 as Senior Credit Officer covering all commercial lending business units.  Prior to joining Flagstar, Joe was a Senior Credit Officer at Fifth Third Bank and previously worked at LaSalle Bank/Michigan National Bank for 20 years in various credit and relationship manager sales roles.

  • Aaron Seybert

    Aaron Seybert


    Aaron Seybert is a social investment officer at The Kresge Foundation. He supports the Social Investment Practice and the Detroit Program at Kresge. He joined the foundation in 2016. Previously, he served as executive director at JPMorgan Chase Bank, where he was involved with community development banking focused on New Markets Tax Credits and Historic Tax Credit investing.

    He started his career in impact investing at Cinnaire (formerly the Great Lakes Capital Fund) addressing affordable housing, and previously worked with Legal Aid of Central Michigan. He has served on the board of directors for the Michigan Magnet Fund, Lake Trust Credit Union and the Core Cities Strategic Fund advisory board.

    A native of Michigan, Aaron earned a bachelor in business administration in corporate finance and accounting from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and a juris doctorate from the Michigan State University College of Law.

  • Thomas J. Bieke

    Thomas J. Bieke


    Thomas J. Bieke is Managing Director and Chief Credit Officer for The Private Bank in Chicago, a publicly-traded commercial bank with approximately $20 billion in assets which, in the first quarter of 2017, will be acquired by Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. He has spent the last 35+ years in middle market commercial banking working for American National Bank & Trust Co. of Chicago, LaSalle Bank (a subsidiary of Netherlands-based ABN AMRO Bank) and Fifth Third Bank. While at Fifth Third, Tom formed and lead the new National Commercial Banking unit to establish a new presence for the Bank in five northeast and southeast markets.

    Tom received his Bachelor of Arts Degree (Economics) from Kalamazoo College in 1980 and his Master in Business Administration from the University of Chicago in 1991.

  • D. James Mack

    D. James Mack


    Jim Mack serves as Executive Vice President – Chief Lending Officer at Independent Bank. He oversees all aspects of Commercial Lending including loan origination, approval, credit administration and operations. Prior to joining Independent Bank in 2009, he had been with Comerica for 25 years, most recently serving as Senior Vice President – Credit Administration for the national divisions of Business

    Banking, Private Banking and SBA Lending. Mr. Mack received his Bachelors of Business Administration from Western Michigan University.
